Overview

Petersen is seeking a Fitter/Welder I to join their team in Farr West, UT. The role involves reading blueprints, fitting, and welding while ensuring customer and schedule requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints
• Supervise a crew and complete jobs from start to finish without direct supervision
• Expedite parts throughout the plant to meet production goals
• Solve obstacles related to the job being run
• Take ownership for meeting customer and schedule requirements
• Exemplify principles of unity, trust, honesty, integrity, creativity, and self-reliance

Requirements

• High School education or GED preferred
• 1-2 years of shop or field welding experience
• Ability to understand implicit and explicit instructions
• Ability to resolve problems and handle conflicts under pressure
• Ability to perform math calculations, especially trigonometry
• Must be able to make uniform and clean welds to customer specifications
• Pass Blueprint test and basic plate weld test within specified time requirements
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Must maintain an acceptable attendance and safety record
