Overview

The Master Welder III serves as the shop's advanced welding specialist and technical expert, performing critical welding applications, supporting procedure development, and providing technical leadership for welding operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, SAW.
  • Perform advanced welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Ability to successfully carbon arc gouge.
  • Produce x-ray quality welds for critical applications.
  • Assist with WPS development, qualification, and implementation.
  • Support quality investigations and welding procedure improvements.
  • Train and certify welders.
  • Serve as technical advisor during fabrication planning.
  • Lead specialty welding projects.

Requirements

  • Extensive multi-process welding experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve NDT acceptance.
  • Experience with pressure vessels, critical structures, or specialty alloys preferred.
  • Advanced blueprint and welding code interpretation.
