Overview
The Master Welder III serves as the shop's advanced welding specialist and technical expert, performing critical welding applications, supporting procedure development, and providing technical leadership for welding operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, SAW.
- Perform advanced welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Ability to successfully carbon arc gouge.
- Produce x-ray quality welds for critical applications.
- Assist with WPS development, qualification, and implementation.
- Support quality investigations and welding procedure improvements.
- Train and certify welders.
- Serve as technical advisor during fabrication planning.
- Lead specialty welding projects.
Requirements
- Extensive multi-process welding experience.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve NDT acceptance.
- Experience with pressure vessels, critical structures, or specialty alloys preferred.
- Advanced blueprint and welding code interpretation.
