Overview

Central Track Services is seeking a Lead Thermite Welder / Class B CDL Driver to maintain and repair railroad infrastructure across the United States. This hands-on role requires extensive travel and focuses on quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermite welds and ensure railroad track is repaired and maintained to high standards.
• Transport equipment and materials using company vehicles that require a Class B CDL.
• Coordinate daily activities in the field and lead small crews on assigned projects.
• Inspect completed work and prepare rail for welding.
• Assist with rail replacement, track construction, track restoration, material handling, and general railroad maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated thermite welding experience.
• Strong commitment to safety.
• Previous experience leading small crews is highly valued.
• Additional experience in railroad maintenance, track construction, rail cutting, or welding is a plus.
