Overview

The Welder Fitter Structural Steel position involves welding components in various positions, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring safety standards are met. Candidates should have experience in FCAW welding and a structural steel background is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Weld components in vertical or horizontal position.
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly using tools.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure them to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Understand and follow company and OSHA safety rules.

Requirements

• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience in FCAW welding/fitting, structural steel background preferred.
• Recognize and understand weld symbols.
• Accurately read a tape line.
