Overview
The Welder position involves interpreting drawings and specifications to perform welding and related operations. The role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Interpret moderately complex drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions.
- Set up and operate metal arc, shielded arc, or oxyacetylene equipment for welding, brazing, and flame cutting.
- Perform moderately complex saw operations and painting as required.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Detect defective material and report to supervisor with accurate details.
- Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements.
- Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and resolve cost, quality, or production issues.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to competently perform all level 1 duties.
- Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints.
- Strong grinding knowledge.
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and flex core welding.
- Experience with machined part fabrication.
- Ability to be versatile and flexible in running open machines.
