The Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Fabrication supports fabrication and weld operations by optimizing processes and ensuring high-quality production.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, calibration, troubleshooting, and improvement of fabrication equipment and processes.
- Write, revise, and maintain clear and accurate SOPs and work instructions for fabrication operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fabrication efficiency and weld quality.
- Collaborate with various teams to identify and resolve fabrication process issues.
- Conduct time studies and process audits to support data-driven improvements.
- Train operators and welders on new or revised fabrication procedures.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities.
- Support compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records of process changes and training activities.
Requirements
- Associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical writing skills with experience creating SOPs and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical documents.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and welding/fabrication tooling.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
