Overview

Elwood Staffing has an immediate opening for a welder / fabricator at a local metal manufacturing facility. This position offers a competitive wage and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Complete manufactured parts, weldments and assemblies, including component layout, welding and finishing.
• Prepare parts for Powder Coating.
• Manage and organize personal work station along with welding department.

Requirements

• Strong blueprint reading ability.
• Ability to read tape measure and utilize calipers.
• Familiar with sheet metal and machined parts.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Welding skills include Mig welding (GMAW) on Mild Steel, Stainless and Aluminum, and Tig welding (GTAW) on Mild Steel, Stainless and Aluminum.
• Ability to weld more exotic materials is a plus.
• Understanding how and when to purge weld.
• Ability to utilize hand grinder, angle sanders and DA sanders to create a high quality end product.
• Applicant may be subject to a background check.
• Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment.

Additional Information

• Temp-to-Hire position.

• Wage range is $24.00 to $29.00 per hour.
