Overview

The Pipefitter serves as a Journeyman within the Facilities Management Service/Engineering Branch at the Orlando VA Medical Center, responsible for the maintenance and operations of various pipefitting duties including installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of plumbing and gas piping systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, repair and inspect all varieties of plumbing and gas piping systems.
  • Periodically inspect piping, valves, control fittings and auxiliary equipment for defects.
  • Make rough sketches or prints of newly installed equipment for updating blueprints.
  • Erect or suspend scaffolding as needed for performance of duties.
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Construct necessary dust barriers and block-off areas for safety.

  • Work Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday or Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:30 pm, 3:00 pm-11:30 pm, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am.
