Overview

The Welder performs welding tasks repairing and maintaining containers both on- and off-site in a safe manner, while also assisting maintenance personnel when required. The position requires passing various tests and obtaining necessary certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks repairing and maintaining containers.
• Assist maintenance personnel when required.

Requirements

• Must pass a pulmonary function test if required by work assignment.
• Passage of the company welding test.
• Welding aptitude.
• Must be able to obtain any welding certificates needed for certain tasks or projects.
• Familiarity with shop equipment such as drill press, cranes, grinders, and saws.
• Demonstrate an understanding of metal welding theory and practices.
• At least one year of maintenance welding experience including the use of arch, Mig, and stick welders, plasma cutter, and acetylene equipment.
• Aluminum welding experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.
• Safe driving for the last three years.
• Forklift certification by company within 90 days of employment.
