Overview

RenewableWorks is hiring a local welder for a solar project in the Clinton area of Missouri. The role involves assembling and maintaining solar systems, and candidates with prior solar or construction experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations using Tack (Stick), FCAW (Flux Core), GMAW (MIG), and/or TIG processes as required.
• Weld structural steel components for solar racking systems, tracker foundations, and equipment supports.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, welding symbols, and project specifications.
• Measure, cut, fit, and fabricate steel components to meet project requirements.
• Assist with installation and alignment of structural steel and solar support systems.
• Inspect welds for quality and compliance with applicable codes and project standards.
• Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment.
• Perform repairs and modifications to damaged or non-conforming materials.
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper storage of tools and materials.
• Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures.
• Work closely with superintendents, foremen, equipment operators, and quality personnel.

Requirements

• Experience in structural steel or industrial construction welding preferred.
• Knowledge of welding codes and quality standards.
• Ability to read construction drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience operating hand and power tools.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as required.
• Frequent standing, kneeling, climbing, bending, and working in awkward positions.
• Ability to work in outdoor construction environments.
• Ability to wear required PPE including welding hood, gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, and fall protection equipment.
• Hard working and dependable.
• Ability to lift 50-75+ pounds and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Information

• Candidates must be local to Clinton and surrounding towns within 50 miles.
• The position is physically demanding and requires working in various weather conditions.
