Overview

Nelson Pipeline, located in Fort Lupton, CO, is seeking a high-performing, self-motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our team in a dual-role position. This individual will support our in-house maintenance and repair team while also serving as the lead/foreman for our Welding & Fabrication division.

Responsibilities

• Complete fabrication projects from start to finish with minimal guidance from the shop manager.
• Interpret shop drawings, cut lists, and erection drawings to fabricate and inspect the full scope of the project.
• Coordinate and keep records of work being performed for tracking purposes.
• Operate forklifts, man lifts, heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, etc.
• Communicate and work effectively with construction management personnel.
• Repair and fabricate metal components used in excavation equipment and support welding needs for client equipment.
• Adhere to safety protocols and standards while working on equipment.
• Work closely with other team members, including equipment operators, mechanics, and supervisors.
• Keep accurate records of welding repairs and maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Must have 3+ years’ experience in welding/fabricating and the construction industry.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Familiar with MIG, TIG, and stick welding operations and procedures.
• Experience and ability with material handling via forklift and crane hoist.
• Experience with hand tools and shop tools for cutting, shearing, and drilling.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform fabrication within required tolerances.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and dependable.
