Overview
Pratt & Whitney, a leader in aerospace and defense, is seeking a Welder I for their Operations Team in North Berwick, Maine. This role involves repairing jet engine components on a weekend shift, offering a unique opportunity to work with advanced technology in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and perform hand fusion, machine welding or other associated metal joining processes.
- Fabricate or repair parts under the direction of a supervisor.
- Work from drawings, sketches, and verbal and written instructions.
- Make required settings to equipment and gas flow to obtain quality welds.
- Prepare parts for welding and align and secure details.
- Operate computer-controlled welding equipment and complete welding cycles.
- Utilize X-Ray film or black light to determine repair requirements.
- Use measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results.
- Perform routine servicing of equipment following specified procedures.
- Maintain appropriate metal joining certifications.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of related experience or a completed degree/certificate in a related field.
- Certification in a minimum of two metal groups preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Flexibility around shifts and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Additional Information
- Weekend shift: Friday-Sunday, 6:00am-6:30pm.
- Work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours.
- Onsite role at Pratt & Whitney North Berwick, a FAA regulated facility.
