Overview

Pratt & Whitney, a leader in aerospace and defense, is seeking a Welder I for their Operations Team in North Berwick, Maine. This role involves repairing jet engine components on a weekend shift, offering a unique opportunity to work with advanced technology in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform hand fusion, machine welding or other associated metal joining processes.
  • Fabricate or repair parts under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Work from drawings, sketches, and verbal and written instructions.
  • Make required settings to equipment and gas flow to obtain quality welds.
  • Prepare parts for welding and align and secure details.
  • Operate computer-controlled welding equipment and complete welding cycles.
  • Utilize X-Ray film or black light to determine repair requirements.
  • Use measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results.
  • Perform routine servicing of equipment following specified procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate metal joining certifications.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of related experience or a completed degree/certificate in a related field.
  • Certification in a minimum of two metal groups preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Flexibility around shifts and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Additional Information

  • Weekend shift: Friday-Sunday, 6:00am-6:30pm.
  • Work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours.
  • Onsite role at Pratt & Whitney North Berwick, a FAA regulated facility.
