Overview

At RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, the Welder position involves repairing jet engine components in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform hand fusion, machine welding or other associated metal joining processes.
  • Work from drawings, sketches, welding machine schedules, verbal and written instructions.
  • Make required settings to equipment, gas flow and other parameters to obtain quality welds.
  • Prepare parts for welding, align and secure details.
  • Operate computer-controlled welding equipment and manipulate hand welding torch.
  • Utilize X-Ray film or black light process to determine extent of repairs required.
  • Use measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results.
  • Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures.
  • Refer difficult problems to supervisor or working leader.
  • Maintain appropriate metal joining certifications.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of related experience or a completed degree/certificate in a related field.
  • Certification in a minimum of two metal groups is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Flexibility around shifts and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Additional Information

  • This is a 2nd Shift Role, Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm.
  • Position is onsite in North Berwick, ME.
