Overview

The Pipefitter position involves welding, cutting, and brazing metal products using various techniques and equipment. The role requires interpreting blueprints and ensuring safety regulations are followed while maintaining machinery and work areas.

Responsibilities

  • Plan details of work order procedures and gather required tools and materials.
  • Fabricate various pipe spools and structural supports using cutting, burning, and welding techniques.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
  • Weld small and large diameter carbon and stainless-steel piping and structural members.
  • Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines performing similar tasks.
  • Maintain and repair all machinery.
  • Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
  • Follow and enforce strict safety regulations.
  • Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Monitor the welding, burning, and fitting process to prevent overheating or damage.
  • Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces.
  • Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.
  • Notify supervisor of faulty equipment or defective materials.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding.
  • Basic understanding of design techniques and principles for technical plans.
  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs.
  • Basic understanding of mathematics related to welding assignments.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Mig, Tig, and flux core welding.
