Overview

ITT is a leading manufacturer of critical components for harsh environments, serving fast-growing markets in flow, aerospace and defense, energy, and transportation. They are seeking a Manual Machinist to support their aftermarket repair and upgrade business in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on materials or workpieces.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and coolant flow.
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of settings or programmed control data.
• Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly.
• Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms and test operation to ensure functionality.
• Develop specifications from general descriptions and draw sketches of parts or products to be fabricated.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot in-depth issues with rotating equipment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret pump drawings.
• Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
• Well-developed planning, organization, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
• Proficient in relevant PC skills.
