Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, alignment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment in an oil terminal environment, ensuring safe and compliant operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform all work in compliance with Terminal policies and safety standards.
- Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy control procedures.
- Install, assemble, dismantle, and relocate mechanical systems.
- Replace bearings, seals, couplings, and other mechanical components.
- Maintain centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
- Assist with tank components, piping repairs, and minor modifications.
- Safely operate hoisting and rigging equipment.
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Document completed work and maintain maintenance records.
- Participate in safety meetings and Emergency Response Team activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Work shifts, overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or approved equivalent.
- Additional Trades an asset.
- Strong reading, writing, communication and math skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
- Knowledge of Isometrics, P&ID’s, blueprints, and manuals.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Oil/Gas Industry preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of petroleum products and industry terminology.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.

- Ability to stand, sit, walk, and maintain balance for extensive periods.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 40 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and operate various tools and equipment.
