Overview
At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. The Friction Stir Welding Technician I will assist in FSW operations, contributing to the manufacturing of the Terran R vehicle, which aims to deliver customer payloads to orbit and advance science and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in FSW operations including running equipment and prepping welds.
- Complete standard lift operations or assist in critical lift operations.
- Perform precision blending and deburring using power or hand tools.
- Conduct in-process inspections using hand tools like micrometers and calipers.
- Uphold safety and cleanliness standards.
- Foster an inclusive team environment.
Requirements
- Experience with material joining processes such as friction stir welding and arc welding.
- Experience with metal fabrication techniques.
- Proficient in the use of common hand tools and inspection tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or team communication tools like Slack.

- This is a 2nd shift position with a schedule of 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM PT, Monday through Friday.
- Position structured around a baseline expectation of a 50-hour workweek, with occasional overtime.
