Overview

Insight Global is seeking a Prototype Fabricator/Composite Technician for a client in Long Beach, CA. This role involves the fabrication, assembly, and installation of advanced composite components and vehicle structures, focusing on producing lightweight, high-performance prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and install advanced composite components and vehicle structures.
• Work closely with engineering teams to interpret designs.
• Execute high-quality builds using carbon fiber and fiberglass materials.
• Utilize wet layup and vacuum bagging processes.

Requirements

• Must have metal fabrication experience.
• Some experience in composite fabrication (carbon fiber and fiberglass).
• Strong understanding of vacuum bagging processes, including bag setup and troubleshooting leaks.
• Experience working with composite materials, including different weaves and core materials.
• Knowledge of resin chemistry, including mix ratios and curing requirements.
• Proficient in measurement and layout using tools such as calipers and tape measures.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and adherence to clean-room standards.
• Ability to track materials, including resin shelf life and usage.
