Overview

The Tepa Companies, established in 2005 and owned by the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians, are seeking a Welder to perform welding tasks on piping and plate within petroleum operations facilities. This role involves various welding processes and general site work, contributing to the company's mission of providing sustainable solutions across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Follow welding procedure specifications when welding
  • Perform quality welds able to pass radiographic examination
  • Perform quality welds using various welding processes, such as TIG, GMAW, SMAW, FCAW on carbon and stainless steel
  • Produce quality welds with efficiency
  • Perform or assist with fit-up and preparation of welds
  • Perform or assist with post weld cleanup, inspection, and repair
  • Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman regarding issues and concerns on the job site
  • Determine the required tools, materials and welding methods based on the project specifications
  • Assemble, install, and repair pipe components and systems according to specifications
  • Inspect all materials, equipment, and tools required to perform the work
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and tools
  • Properly prepare materials by clamping, cutting, or applying chemical solutions to piping
  • Examine completed welds to ensure they are free of defects, smooth, and functional
  • Assist pipefitter in developing weld maps
  • Observe all safety regulations

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass an 'All Position' weld test utilizing SMAW and FCAW processes
  • Must be able to pass 2, 3, and 4G plate welding tests
  • Must be able to perform both stick and TIG welds on both carbon and stainless steel pipe
  • Must be able to utilize large weld rods (3/16" minimum) in all positions and in an effective and efficient manner
  • Must be able to maintain a 90 – 100% pass rate on all welds requiring radiographic examination
  • Must be able to fit all types of standard appurtenances
  • Must be able to utilize automatic cutting torch for such tasks as cutting the slot in the tank shell to receive a secondary bottom
  • Must possess knowledge of automatic welding equipment, to include operating and repair of this type of equipment
  • Must be able to effectively utilize an arc gouge and hand torch
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and written instructions
  • Must have a working knowledge of AWS, API, ANSI, and ASME codes and standards
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot and have a strong attention to detail
  • Must have physical dexterity
  • Must be able to follow verbal directions
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen required to access US military installations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Additional Information

  • This is a traveling position requiring onsite presence at one of our Industrial project sites.
  • Pay range: $21.99 - $34.12 per hour + per diem for travelers 95+ miles from the job site.
