Overview

Novolex is a leading manufacturer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging, supporting various industries. The Set-Up Mechanic will support the manufacturing group by ensuring thermoforming mold set-ups are completed on schedule and perform minor mechanical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Support the manufacturing group by completing thermoforming mold set-ups on schedule.
• Install and remove molds and perform minor and major repairs.
• Learn all tool room functions, welding, machining, and thermoforming set-ups.
• Read rules, micrometers, and calipers.
• Set up and operate all tool room equipment.
• Work from verbal instructions, sketches, or blueprints.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Recommend component upgrades to increase productivity or reduce overtime.
• Inspect operating equipment for problems or potential failures and adjust as needed.
• Fill out all related paperwork correctly.
• Maintain general housekeeping of manufacturing areas and equipment.
• Work closely with tool room mechanics to ensure adequate supplies are on hand.
• Understand the differences between various materials in the plant.
• Safely operate forklifts, hand-jacks, hydraulic cranes, and other powered equipment.
• Be willing to work anywhere within the plant and work overtime as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Must have an outstanding work record.
• Position requires a HS Diploma or GED and 2-3 years related experience.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and mechanical skills are required.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Additional Information

• Pay range is $25.96 to $33.30, paid weekly.
• Available shift: 6AM to 3:30PM (E-Shift) Monday - Friday.
