Overview

Flexco, a leading global manufacturer with over 100 years of experience, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain custom machinery in their air-conditioned facility in Downers Grove. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing and offers a supportive culture focused on excellence and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Repair production and plant equipment, determining the extent of repairs and replacing worn or defective parts.
• Maintain building and facilities, performing carpentry, plumbing, electrical, sheet metal, and air piping work.
• Keep accurate records using current PM software.
• Fabricate items such as equipment guards and supports.
• Perform scheduled maintenance duties as assigned.
• Order supplies and materials as necessary.
• Assist with replacement or installation of facility equipment working with outside contractors.
• Install and relocate manufacturing equipment.
• Prepare for machine installations and/or removal.
• Clean and replace motors and pumps, install power lines, troubleshoot, and repair electric or electronic controls and lighting circuits.
• Assist with facility technician responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• Must have an electrician license or willingness to obtain one in the first 24 months.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, including millwright-level mechanical work.
• 1+ years in a maintenance or machine building role.
• Proficiency in welding.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance, including understanding, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and application of proper electrical wiring methods and techniques.
• Ability to apply advanced trade mathematics and interpret complex technical drawings, prints, and manuals.
• Comfort working in a role that requires kneeling, crawling, and stooping.
• Exposure to oil, grease, loud noises and extreme temperature variations.
• Other safety certifications will be required upon hire.
