Overview

Watts is a company dedicated to providing safe, clean water for the world and protecting the planet's resources. The Welder - Combination role involves performing high-quality welding using various techniques on different materials, adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute welding using various techniques including MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Cored Arc, and Plasma Arc on a range of metals.
  • Analyze and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements.
  • Set up welding equipment and prepare materials by cutting, grinding, or cleaning surfaces.
  • Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and safe handling of materials.
  • Pass ASME coupon tests and obtain ASME Certified Combination Welder.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a certified welding training program or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Ability to weld MIG, TIG, and Stick.
  • English comprehension: ability to read, write and communicate.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to use power tools and handle light and average weight parts.
  • Ability to work safely.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices.

  • This position is onsite and based in Blauvelt, NY.
