Overview

CMC is a Fortune 500 company that specializes in construction reinforcement and steel products. The Rebar Fabricator position offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow in the steel and construction industries while receiving comprehensive training and support.

Responsibilities

  • Attend training regarding applicable equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
  • Assist in loading fabricated rebar on trailers and unloading stock material from trailers.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition.
  • Operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture.
  • Cross-train on multiple machines.
  • Operate rebar fabrication equipment, such as shears, benders, cranes, forklift, threaders, forging, welders, etc.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions.
  • Able and willing to cross train as required.
  • Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habits.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate fabrication machines in a safe manner without supervision.
  • Able to work overtime as business requires.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps.
  • Must be able to read technical documents and service manuals.
  • Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the industrial field.
  • Excellent communication skills, in both written and verbal form are necessary.
  • Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not required.
  • Must possess work ethic and ability to be punctual.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
