Overview

La Bottega Pinarello is building a premium cycling destination in New York and is looking for an experienced Workshop Mechanic to join their founding team. This role combines technical expertise, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service to create industry-leading rider experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble premium bicycles to the highest standards
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, upgrades and routine maintenance
  • Conduct quality control inspections
  • Deliver exceptional workshop presentation and organization
  • Prepare bicycles for rider delivery
  • Support inventory management and stock accuracy
  • Receive and process incoming inventory
  • Conduct cycle counts and inventory audits
  • Manage service inventory and workshop consumables
  • Support warranty administration and product returns
  • Maintain stockroom organization and operational standards
  • Support premium bicycle sales conversations
  • Assist with custom bike build consultations
  • Recommend upgrades, components and performance solutions
  • Help riders understand technical options and product benefits
  • Build trust through expertise and exceptional service
  • Support achievement of sales, service and business goals
  • Contribute to a premium hospitality experience throughout the store

Requirements

  • Experience in precision bicycle assembly
  • Knowledge of premium road and gravel bicycles
  • Familiarity with electronic shifting systems
  • Experience with hydraulic brake systems
  • Skills in wheel truing and tensioning
  • Knowledge of tubeless systems
  • Experience in drivetrain diagnostics and repair
  • Skills in frame preparation and bearing installation
  • Technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Experience with premium cycling brands and components is highly desirable
  • Previous experience within a premium cycling retailer, workshop or service environment is preferred

Additional Information

  • Part-time and full-time positions are available
  • The hourly rate will range from $27 to $31 per hour
