Overview

Coach USA is hiring skilled Diesel Mechanics for the HudsonLink service, which provides over 500,000 passenger rides annually between Rockland County and Westchester County. The role involves diagnosing and repairing diesel engines to ensure passenger safety and vehicle reliability.

Responsibilities

• Utilize diagnostic tools to identify issues with mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
• Perform removal, installation, disassembly, and reconditioning of diesel engine components.
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance according to manufacturers' specifications.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance work meets or exceeds industry standards.
• Complete test drives to verify that repaired vehicles run correctly and safely.
• Write detailed inspection reports and maintain electronic maintenance logs.
• Adhere to all workplace safety policies and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

• Solid background in diesel mechanics, with experience on Cummins and Detroit engines.
• ASE Diesel Certification or associate degree in diesel technology is preferred but not mandatory.
• Willingness to obtain a CDL.
• Adept at troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• Computer diagnostic skills are a plus.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and on weekends and holidays as needed.
• Experience in the Motor Coach Industry is preferred.
• Must have the necessary toolkit to carry out maintenance duties independently.
