Overview
Timken is seeking a Heat Treat Utility Operator to perform various heat treat operations on production parts. This role offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact in improving industrial equipment efficiency and advancing your career within a global team.
Responsibilities
- Set-up and operate electric and gas-fired furnaces and associated quenching devices.
- Perform size and hardness checks on treated parts.
- Maintain accurate logs for equipment usage.
- Load and unload spherodizing furnaces and tempering ovens.
- Assist in carburizing operations and provide backup for the HT A as needed.
- Examine carb fixtures and baskets, reporting unserviceable conditions.
- Participate in charging and quenching operations.
- Perform straightening operations as directed.
- Ensure proper care of company tools and adherence to safety regulations.
- Maintain equipment in good working order and keep a neat work area.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Eligible to work in the US.
- Willing to work overtime and any shift.
- Able to read, write, and perform basic math.
- Able to follow heat treat standard procedures accurately.
- Physically capable of performing demanding work.
- Able to satisfactorily perform the jobs of Induction Hardener, Straightener, and Hardness Tester.
