Overview

The Break Setup Operator position at Schindler involves setting up and operating bending equipment in the sheet metal area, contributing to the company's mission of enhancing urban life through accessible and sustainable transportation solutions. Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate all bending equipment in the sheet metal area.
  • Set up equipment for others when called upon.
  • Proficiently operate all equipment in the sheet metal department.
  • Properly use measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.
  • Assist the Working Foreman.
  • Possess knowledge of bend allowance and layout.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and PDF files.
  • Utilize additional specialized skills for productivity enhancement.
  • Set up, program, and train others in the department.
  • Work without supervision.
  • Lift relatively heavy materials as required.
  • Follow all Quality and Safety procedures.
  • Read, receive instructions, and communicate in English.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Knowledge in ELEC/MECH Engineering, drawing, and BOM.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and routing.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Problem-solving skills or lean six sigma experience.
  • Engineering understanding in mechanical and electrical fields.
  • Experience in Supply Chain and Industrialization.
  • Analytical competency including data mining and strong Excel skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • SAP knowledge of material management.

  • Location: Wayne (EPCO), NJ, United States.
  • Base Salary: $29.05/hour / $60,424/year.
