Overview

The Construction Mechanic (Plumber) position requires standard knowledge and a range of trade-specific capabilities for the construction, maintenance, and repairs of building structures and systems. The role involves performing inspections, installations, and repairs using trade-specific techniques and tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections, installations, and building repairs through standard knowledge of trade-specific techniques.
• Utilize tools and equipment to efficiently complete installation and repair tasks.
• Coordinate and collaborate extensively with trade-specific systems to complete specialized assignments.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data on machine operation, proposing actions to minimize risk and enhance performance.
• Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment and systems, identifying potential defects or inefficiencies and addressing them promptly.
• Assess and determine resources, supplies, and staffing needed to complete tasks.
• Perform the demolition of building elements and clean up areas as needed.
• Maintain standard working knowledge of construction practices and techniques, staying updated with relevant trade-specific safety procedures.
• Perform related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of technical experience required.
• Must be able to carry 60 lbs.
• Valid NY State driver's license required.
