Overview
Veolia in North America is a leading environmental company that provides a wide range of water, waste, and energy management services. The Installation, Service, and Maintenance Person (ISMP) will be responsible for various installation, maintenance, and repair tasks related to water systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, repair, and operate pipes, fittings, and taps on mains of all sizes.
- Set up and mount patent connection machines and make cuts on service lines of all sizes.
- Work on hydrants and valves including insertion, altitude, regulator, relief, air, and main.
- Perform shovel work and other related tasks.
- Follow directions from the Leader of Construction and/or Senior ISMP/Sub Leader.
- Repair and maintain cutting machines, pip saws, tapping machines, and perform masonry and rough carpentry work.
- Operate air compressors and pneumatic equipment for various tasks.
- Assist with the development and training of employees.
- Perform other similar or less skilled work as assigned.
- Substitute on the large valve truck based on seniority.
- Perform regularly scheduled standby emergency duties with a response time not to exceed 45 minutes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license with CDL Class B air brakes.
- Must pass a demonstration of abilities test.
- Ability to lift up to 90 lbs.
- Ability to climb, bend, and crawl in tight spaces.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
