Overview

The Certified Welder position in Glendale, AZ involves setting up and operating welding systems while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. Candidates should have extensive welding experience and the ability to read technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Properly set up and operate manual and automatic welding systems per work instructions and good welding practices.
• Position and adjust fixtures, attachments, or workpiece on machine using visual acuity, hand tools, and measuring devices.
• Adjust, within procedural limits, to fine-tune the process to achieve conformance standards.
• Read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols, and quality requirements.
• Perform proper pre-weld cleaning and handling of parts.
• Inspect hardware to ensure specifications are met by visual inspection and measuring devices.
• Maintain a high level of performance while following appropriate procedures and observing all pertinent safety rules and requirements.
• Maintain work area and equipment in an organized, clean, and FOD-free manner.

Requirements

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• At least 8+ years of welding or related experience or demonstrated ability to perform the described responsibilities.
• Able to become certified to AWS D17.1.2001.
• Able to read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols, and quality requirements.
• Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
