Overview

Bechtel is seeking a Welding Field Engineer to lead and maintain global construction field welding programs while providing specialized welding engineering support. Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Field Engineer and Lead Field Welding engineer in implementing the site welding program on small projects.
  • Implement and maintain Bechtel Field Welding program for all welding operations.
  • Provide technical assistance to field superintendents and crafts.
  • Ensure all supervision and craft personnel involved in welding operations are educated on applicable code and project requirements.
  • Coordinate work activities of subcontractor and direct-hire pre/PWHT personnel.
  • Possess working knowledge of Bechtel's corporate pre/PWHT procedure and other welding procedures/standards.
  • Support the crafts in meeting cost and schedules.

Requirements

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of basic construction principles.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel’s 'Zero Accidents' safety program.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
  • Working knowledge of Access, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive.
  • Possess a high degree of individual initiative, flexibility, diplomacy, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn new processes, procedures, and software.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and easily adjust priorities.
