Overview

Cannon Industries, a leading global sheet metal and custom weld fabricator based in Rochester, New York, is seeking a Class A Welder. The role involves fabricating and welding components to produce high-quality products while adhering to performance standards and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Weld components together using MIG and/or TIG according to blueprints and Traveler.
  • Regularly stand, use hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch while performing job duties.
  • Check and verify part numbers prior to assembly of products to customer specifications.
  • Notify supervisor of part shortages before the part runs out.

Requirements

  • Job knowledge through suitable education or prior work experience.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move 25-50 pounds.
  • Meet minimum 20/20 vision standards (with corrective lenses if needed).
  • Score a minimum score on the in-house welding test.
  • Knowledge on how to set-up weld machine and lay a quality bead for both MIG and TIG.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols at an advanced level.
  • Knowledge of the metric system preferred.
  • Accurately measure and lay out locations for welded components.
  • Adjust weld as needed to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel.
  • Operate grinder, drill, band saw, torch.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, etc.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.

Additional Information

  • Must supply his/her own welding helmet and safety shoes.
  • Requires the use of safety glasses and shoes, welding helmet, grinding shield, tight-fitting clothing without tears, hearing protection and gloves.
