Overview
BNSF Railway is one of the largest U.S. railroads, committed to safety, inclusion, and excellence. As a Track Maintenance Welder, you will support the construction, inspection, and repair of tracks and railroad assets, ensuring the movement of essential products across the nation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in track maintenance duties including lifting and carrying track material.
- Operate and maintain 26K+ lb trucks safely and efficiently.
- Weld, grind, and cut rail while following BNSF welding procedures.
- Maintain records and timesheets while reducing fire risks.
- Work in diverse and extreme weather conditions.
- Engage in daily safety conversations and adhere to safety regulations.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Able to work safely in the specified working conditions.
- Able to meet travel requirements and work the specified shifts.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs occasionally.
- Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or able to obtain one within 60 days.
- Able to visually distinguish colors and discriminate between sounds.
- Must follow safety policies and procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
- Maintain residency within the hired district or within 50 miles of a designated BNSF depot.

- This is a full-time position requiring on-call, overtime, nights, alternating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel is required to job sites for extended periods.
