Overview

Temple University's School of Dentistry is seeking a Mechanic II to install, repair, and maintain dental equipment. The Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry, founded in 1863, is known for its innovation in dental education and services.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain various clinical dental equipment such as dental chairs, sinks, hand pieces, sterilizers, and x-ray units.
  • Install, repair, and maintain dental laboratory equipment and practice units.
  • Order necessary supplies and equipment and keep accurate inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of related experience in a dental or similar environment.
  • Ability to travel between dental school clinics as needed.
  • Ability to perform plumbing duties as well as carpentry and electrical repairs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of dental units.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations of students, faculty, staff, and external contacts.
  • Great attention to detail and sound judgment with the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work.

Additional Information

  • General hours will be Mon-Fri 8-5, but must be able to have schedule flexibility as needed, which may include occasional earlier hours and weekends.
