Overview

Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Kitchen Mechanic for the PantherDining Hall, which is certified by the Green Restaurant Association. This role involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on various kitchen equipment while contributing to the growth and development of the university community.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the Dining Services' Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for commercial kitchen appliances and HVAC-R systems.
  • Manage materials, parts, and equipment needed for the PM program, including inventory tracking and supply procurement.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
  • Perform repairs quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Create and execute repair plans for all PantherDining locations in compliance with regulations.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with project participants to ensure timely work completion.
  • Tag and maintain accurate maintenance reports for all equipment.
  • Research and report costs associated with repairs while maintaining budget expectations.
  • Follow up on billing and receivables for all units.
  • Maintain accurate Purchase Card transactions and vehicle in accordance with guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous department process improvements.
  • Perform regular administrative tasks such as file maintenance and data entry.
  • Promote excellent customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Four years of experience working with commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Refrigerant certification preferred or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Valid GA driver's license.
  • HVACR Certification preferred.
  • EPA Certification preferred.
  • Electrical/Plumbing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations.
