Overview

The Maintenance Technician at Pratt Industries is responsible for safely maintaining machinery and equipment to ensure continuous operation and exceptional quality. The role requires traveling to various locations and involves extensive mechanical and maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of equipment by checking and repairing safety guards and hydraulics.
• Maintain inventory and supply of replacement parts, keeping written records and ordering parts as approved.
• Perform preventative maintenance for all machinery and vehicles, assisting and training operators as needed.
• Ensure all safety features of forklifts and other machinery are functional and perform necessary repairs.
• Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on balers, conveyors, and densifiers.
• Keep management informed of wear factors and possible breakdowns, and maintain logs of all repairs.
• Follow all company policies and safety guidelines, performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 7 – 10 years’ experience with mechanical and maintenance duties.
• Hands-on skills and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work in varying climates and conditions.
• Basic computer skills for data entry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math operations.
• General knowledge of electrical prints, pneumatic pumps, and hydraulic systems.
• Welding skills with stick and wire feed welder.
• Must have own tools and be able to use them on the job.
• Professional attitude and conduct.
• Strong multi-tasking, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• High degree of safety awareness and discipline.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, nights, and weekends when necessary.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
