Overview

Senior Bird Bellows, established in 1975 and based in Congleton, Cheshire, is a family-run operation serving the petro-chemical and gas industries. They are seeking a highly skilled Manual TIG Welder for their Night-shift team to produce high-quality welded components in a precision-focused manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and associated shop-floor documentation to understand product requirements and manufacturing sequences.
• Perform high-precision TIG welding in accordance with approved procedures, schedules, and quality standards.
• Maintain welder qualification by completing weld tests that meet internal and customer-specified approval criteria.
• Conduct visual inspections of all completed welds, identifying and reporting any defects or discrepancies.
• Follow welding process controls including NADCAP requirements for material identification, filler wire control, and traceability.
• Work with exceptional accuracy to support the production of high-integrity components.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 Welding Engineering apprenticeship.
• Evidence of Aerospace standard welding approvals (desirable).
