Job Description

Overview

The TIG Welder position involves the fabrication and assembly of customer-specified enclosures using TIG welding techniques on materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel. The role requires precision and adherence to safety regulations while working in a fast-paced fabrication shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret specifications and blueprints.
  • Lay out, fit, or connect parts to be welded, calculating production measurements as necessary.
  • Set up and operate welding machines to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot welding equipment problems.
  • Assemble, align, and clamp workpieces into holding fixtures to weld fabricated metal components according to design and specifications.
  • Inspect, measure, or test completed metal workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications using measuring and testing devices.
  • Work with overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Perform other shop duties such as cutting, assembly, or kitting when needed.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and production processes are followed; use required PPE and safely operate welding machines and tools.
  • Ensure that all cleaning and maintenance schedules are completed and maintained to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to cross train and assist in other shop functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate various TIG welded joints.
  • MIG welding ability.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade school certificate in welding is a plus.
  • Minimum of two years of experience preferred.

  • Work schedule is 5am - 3:30pm, M-Th.
