Overview

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions used to produce chips and advanced displays. The Welder II position involves operating various welding equipment and tools, reading engineering drawings, and fabricating welded assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Operate TIG, MIG, and Oxy Acetylene welding equipment and common shop tools.
  • Train Welder I.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Use measuring equipment for precise measurements.
  • Cut stock for welded assemblies using shop measuring equipment.
  • Fabricate simple welded assemblies and frame assemblies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and handle tools properly.
  • Conform to departmental safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficient in operating welding equipment and common shop tools.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Advanced capability in using measuring equipment.
  • Physically demanding position requiring standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work in noisy environments.
  • Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
