Responsibilities
- Reviewing drawings and instructions to understand welding requirements
- Prioritizing work orders to meet production schedules
- Performing layouts and preparing materials for welding
- Positioning, aligning, and fitting components together accurately
- Bolting, clamping, and tack-welding parts to secure them for final welding
- Setting up equipment and welding parts using manual and automatic welding tools
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with manufacturing procedures
- Performing additional duties as assigned based on workload and business needs
Requirements
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Have a welding certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent experience
- Have at least 6 months of TIG & MIG welding experience
- Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Have intermediate math and reading skills
- Have the ability to safely operate industrial equipment including manual welders, MIG, TIG, automatic welders, plasma cutters, and cutting torches
- Have the ability to meet company QA welder qualifications (NADCAP certification)
- Have strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety
- Have the ability to follow all manufacturing procedures and company policies
- Have strong time-management skills and the ability to stay on task
- Have a positive attitude and the ability to work well with peers, supervisors, management, and external representatives
