Overview

At ABB, we help industries run leaner and cleaner. This position involves operating machine tools and repairing molds and tooling under minimal supervision, contributing to production efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow plant safety procedures.
• Analyze a variety of specifications.
• Set up and operate machine tools including lathe, milling machine, surface grinder, drill press, and saws.
• Program HAAS CNC lathes and mills.
• Repair molds and tooling while maintaining tight tolerances.
• Fabricate tooling from engineering drawings.
• Set up and use a tig welder with skill.
• Clean and examine tooling for defects.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances using measuring instruments.
• Perform quality checks and react to projects in a timely manner.
• Take ownership of product quality after fabrication.
• Perform duties as assigned by supervisor or team leader.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 5 - 10 years’ experience in a similar environment.
• Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
• Knowledge of various types of production equipment.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Good mechanical and electrical abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Injection molding skills.
