At Freeport-McMoRan, the Mill Diagnostic Mechanic I role involves performing diagnostic replacement and repairs on various mechanical systems while promoting a culture of safety and collaboration. The position is based in Bagdad, Arizona, a small town with significant opportunities and amenities.

Responsibilities

• Perform component diagnostic replacement and repairs on various mechanical systems.
• Conduct mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance.
• Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair.
• Perform welding using Stick and Tig methods.
• Train and mentor other employees.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Act as a Fill-in Supervisor as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts or a combination of education and experience.
• Completion of academic and practical competencies required for the position.
• Ability to achieve a 35% score on a written assessment based on technical skills and safety.
• Proficient basic welding skills.
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments and procedures.
• Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints.
• Time management skills.
