Overview

Chart Industries is seeking a Welder II to perform moderate to complex welding activities in Theodore, AL. The role requires independent work on welding metal parts, ensuring proper alignment and secure joints, while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform moderate to complex welding activities, including hand welding and material handling equipment.
• Weld metal parts on fixtures, attaching jigs and clamps to hold metal parts in proper position.
• Fit and weld metal components together, ensuring proper alignment and secure joint.
• Determine type and gauge of steel to be welded, making appropriate heat adjustments as required.
• Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels.
• Update and maintain all required documentation associated with job responsibilities.
• Assume responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment.
• Maintain a clean work area and general housekeeping standards.
• Understand and practice established safety and quality standard procedures.
• Perform all tasks to ISO standards and requirements.
• May be required to perform mass spec and visual inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years TIG welding experience.
• Must pass 3G weld test and other weld tests as required.
• Experience interpreting blueprints and bill of materials (BOM).
• Basic math skills including weight measurement, volume, distance, multiplication and division.
• Attention to detail essential.
• Self-starter capable of managing workload under minimal direction and supervision.
• Proven ability to identify, reason, and problem solve non-conformities and deviations.
• Must be able to use and accurately measure using tape measure, micrometer, and calipers.
• Overtime and weekend hours as needed.
