Overview

The Fabricator role involves using custom fabrication and grinding/polishing techniques at a Journeyman level to create custom pieces according to client specifications. The position requires understanding client needs, utilizing specialized equipment, and ensuring the final products meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Own and help improve performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery.
• MIG and/or TIG weld carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to meet quality standards.
• Read engineering prints and follow specifications.
• Perform basic operator preventative maintenance for welding equipment.
• Maneuver in tight spaces and work at heights of 15-20 ft.
• Conduct general grinding, polishing, and finishing jobs.
• Assist in different departments as assigned by the supervisor or team leader.
• Wear approved personal protective equipment.
• Complete assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices.
• Mentor welders and grinders when needed.

Requirements

• Must have Journeyman level skills in fabrication.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.
• Capable of following and understanding engineering prints and specifications.
• High level welding capabilities and certifications.
• Understanding of high-level fabrication processes and techniques.
• Ability to read a tape measure and use layout tools.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a group.
• Fabrication tasks performed to a Welder 4 skill level and grinding/polishing tasks to a Grinder 2 skill level.
