Overview
The Measurement Technician position involves assisting with routine measurement functions, gaining knowledge of natural gas operations, and performing calibration and troubleshooting of measurement equipment. The role emphasizes safety and teamwork while providing opportunities for learning and development within Targa Resources.
Responsibilities
- Assist other Measurement Technicians or Supervisor with routine measurement functions.
- Learn about Natural Gas Characteristics, Gas Plant Operations, Engine & Compressor Operations and Maintenance, and Gas & Liquid Measurement.
- Perform scheduled calibrations, gas sampling, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of Electronic Flow Measurement equipment.
- Witness and verify third party meter calibrations.
- Assist in the operation, calibration, and troubleshooting of H2S monitors.
- General cleanup of assigned work areas.
- Assist in training of new hires or other technicians in safety procedures and mechanical maintenance.
- Learn to fill out applicable work/hot work permits and lockout/tagout documentation.
- Actively participate in all safety meetings and safety functions.
- Responsible for personal safety and the safety of coworkers.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience.
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Interpersonal communication skills to interface with teams, personnel, and vendors.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Software.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50lbs.
- Ability to work in changing climate conditions.
- Able to work in close quarters.
- Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
