Overview
The Code-Compliant Welder position involves fabricating pressure-rated equipment that adheres to ASME Section VIII, Division 1 standards. The role requires expertise in Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Deliver welds that meet customer specs, applicable code, and accepted industry standards.
- Apply Flux-Cored techniques with emphasis on back-gouging accuracy.
- Adhere to all safety policies and maintain efficient work practices.
- Record labor accurately and consistently.
- Prepare and clean sections for inspection approval.
- Care for and maintain company tools.
- Coordinate daily with the Plant Foreman and Assigned Fitter.
- Collaborate with the Internal Quality Control Manager; respond to customer site inspectors and the Authorized Inspector.
- Operate with limited supervision; manage time to achieve on-time, defect-free results.
- Complete required project paperwork and documentation promptly.
Requirements
- Successful completion of Mason’s weld test.
- Ability to earn and maintain required production weld certifications.
- 3+ years of vessel fabrication experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Division 1 (preferred).
- Precise blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Team-first mindset, dependable, and punctual.
- Driver’s License.
