Overview

The Welder 1 position in Willmar, MN is responsible for performing TIG and MIG welding and finishing according to contract specifications while ensuring safety and adherence to schedule and budget. The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-oriented environment and possess strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG Welding according to contract specifications.
• Execute MIG Welding tasks as directed.
• Conduct Wire Welding and Purge Welding.
• Utilize Hand Peening techniques.
• Set up and operate Hand Plasma equipment.
• Perform Grinder and Metal Finishing tasks.
• Handle Rigging and Material Handling duties.
• Follow all quality standards as per company procedures.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and timely.
• Record time on time sheets per project accurately.
• Adhere to all safety procedures when operating machinery.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment as per standards.
• Assist in training new coworkers as directed.
• Collaborate with team members to maximize productivity.

Requirements

• Technical degree or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency in MIG, TIG, Laser, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and OSHA safety regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Additional Information

• Position is onsite in Willmar, MN.
• Work schedule is Monday – Thursday 6:00am to 3:30pm and Fridays 6:00am to 2:30pm.
