Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and abide by all plant safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Perform daily equipment check lists (IE crane checks, equipment checks, etc.).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, job routings, and Standard Engineering Specifications.
  • Assemble heads, shells, and flanges for circumferential seam welding.
  • Hold necessary weld certifications to fabricate and repair pressure vessels.
  • Perform all kinds of welding, cutting, and gouging operations applicable to the company.
  • Handset couplings, flanges, pipe nipples, legs, brackets, braces, etc., within tolerances specified on blueprints.
  • Record required information on proper forms relating to specific fabrication practices.
  • Pneumatic test doubler pads and pressure vessels when required.
  • Inspect and repair joggled shells using dye penetrants and complete dye penetrant certification.
  • Handle materials and operate cranes, hoists, and forklifts as needed.
  • Perform modifications or alterations to previously fabricated pressure vessels.
  • Understand the ISO system and elements that affect the job.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations.
  • Basic understanding of computers.
  • Reading, writing, and simple math skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Experience with wire feed (GMAW) welding equipment.
  • Experience with air carbon arc gouging equipment.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic tools available to shop employees.
  • Knowledge of measuring tools like levels, center finder, carpenters square, chalk line, compass, protractor, tape measure, circumference tape measure, and center punch.
  • Experience with air plasma arc cutting machine and Oxy/Acet cutting torch.
  • Knowledge of fillet weld gauges.
