Overview

The Welder/Fabrication C is responsible for planning, laying out, and fabricating complex production and experimental metal parts and assemblies using a wide range of tools and processes. This role interprets blueprints and work instructions, performs inspections to ensure parts meet required tolerances, and troubleshoots issues within established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plans work and layout, sets up and fabricates a wide variety of intricate, experimental and/or production sheet metal parts and final assemblies from raw material.
• Uses tools such as shears, brakes, drills, sanders, and welding equipment.
• Interprets standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, and job layouts.
• Checks and inspects operations against specified tolerances.
• Follows established processes to complete tasks.
• Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
• Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department.
• May be a resource to other employees in areas of proficiency.
• Works under limited supervision with minimal peer review.

Requirements

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
