Overview
The Welder/Fabrication C is responsible for planning, laying out, and fabricating complex production and experimental metal parts and assemblies using a wide range of tools and processes. This role interprets blueprints and work instructions, performs inspections to ensure parts meet required tolerances, and troubleshoots issues within established procedures.
Responsibilities
- Plans work and layout, sets up and fabricates a wide variety of intricate, experimental and/or production sheet metal parts and final assemblies from raw material.
- Uses tools such as shears, brakes, drills, sanders, and welding equipment.
- Interprets standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, and job layouts.
- Checks and inspects operations against specified tolerances.
- Follows established processes to complete tasks.
- Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
- Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department.
- May be a resource to other employees in areas of proficiency.
- Works under limited supervision with minimal peer review.
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
