Overview

The Welder II position at RTX involves performing advanced welding operations with limited supervision, ensuring precision and adherence to manufacturing specifications and quality standards. RTX is the world's largest aerospace and defense company, dedicated to solving complex problems in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in TIG welding tasks with minimal supervision to meet quality and production standards.
• Learn and operate automatic and manual welding machines according to specifications.
• Perform cleaning operations after welding to maintain production quality.
• Inspect and check dimensions using precision gauges and measuring instruments.
• Learn alloy and assembly operations necessary for furnace operations.
• Operate CNC equipment as required to complete welding processes.
• Perform non-production welds as needed and support specialized welding tasks.
• Accurately read and interpret blueprints and specification sheets.
• Complete production documentation with accuracy.
• Support and adhere to all rules, guidelines, and standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement processes to enhance production efficiency and safety.
• Work extended shifts or overtime hours as required.

Requirements

• Typically requires HS diploma or equivalent or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• 1 or more years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and/or engineering drawings.
• 1 or more years of experience with general hand and/or power tools.
• 3-4 years minimum of relevant TIG welding experience highly preferred.
• Maintenance or automated welding experience preferred.
• Familiarity with resistance welding.

Additional Information

• Onsite position located in San Marcos, TX.
• 1st shift hours (7am-3:30 pm) Monday - Friday.
